  64.       With the Flame filter, you can create stunning, randomly
  65.       generated fractal patterns. You can't control the fractals as
  66.       you can with the <a href="ch06s12s05.html" title="12.5.┬áIFS Compose">Ifs
  67.       Compose</a> filter, but you can steer the 
  68.       random generator in a certain direction, and choose from
  69.       variations of a theme you like.

  72.       In the main window, you can set Rendering and Camera
  73.       parameters. The first three parameters in the Render display are
  74.       Brightness, Contrast and Gamma. The result of these options is
  75.       visible in the Preview window, but it's generally better to
  76.       stick to the default values, and correct the rendered image
  77.       later with Image/Colors.

  114.             Pressing this button brings up the Edit dialog.  The
  115.             dialog shows nine different windows. The pattern displayed
  116.             in the center is the current pattern, and the eight
  117.             windows surrounding it are random variations of that
  118.             pattern.  Clicking on the central image creates eight new
  119.             variations, which can be adjusted with the Speed
  120.             control. You select a variation by clicking on it, and it
  121.             instantly replaces the image in the middle. To pick a
  122.             certain character or theme for the variations, you can

  125.             current pattern with a new random pattern.
